Last year of 2023 was another happy moment in my life for another achievement ALONE with my own feet.I'm truly appreciate it and always grateful to Allah SWT .However , last year was full of loss , pain , struggle for many people around the world. Our Sisters and Brothers in Turkey, Morocco, Afghanistan & Syria experienced massive earthquakes.Torrential rains and flooding in Libya thar same week left more than 11, 000 dead. And of course Israel has murdered many of innocent Palestinians with violence continuing.
Even prior to last year's tragedies , living conditions in many of these countries were already difficult. Many people were already displaced. Many were already struggling with access to healthcare, food , water or basic necessities.

After nearly a decade serving proudly as @the_ispu Institute for Social Policy and Understanding -ISPU Research Director , 31 December 2023 was her last day in that role. This transition is bittersweet for her as she love ISPU and deeply believe in its mission and vision and this has been her dream job. However , due to some major changes in her personal life , she can no longer manage a 9-5 full time job , no matter how accommodating.Moving forward , she will be working on independant projects that allow her more flexibility and happily remain a scholar affiliated with ISPU working on research the she passionate about. As she say goodbye, she 's so excited to introduce her successor , Dr Saher Selod , who started as ISPU's Director of Research on January 15, 2024.Saher comes to ISPU from Simmons University in Boston, where she most recently served as the Chair of the Sociology Department. Her research expertise centers on the experiences of Muslims with surveillance .
